The Less Routine, The More Life

This morning in community (in LIFE School, the entire community of both kids and teacher meet once a cycle to talk about general happenings, ie- community service projects and upcoming events, before everyone takes part in a planned activity) we did spring window painting! Even though it was chilly, it was warm in the sun and everyone had breakfast outside.

Before I dashed out to take an AP Psych test, I had a really telling conversation with my former Forensics teacher (Oddo). He was telling me how he is going to teach Monks English in Prague this summer. He is so excited to immerse himself in something totally off beat and out of his comfort zone. Although, I wasn't surprised (he does stuff like this ALL the time), I was seriously inspired.

I don't want to be the type of person that lives a planned life. I want to experience everything unplanned life has to offer! I want to take risks and give back and find joy in things other than (or in addition to) the generic motions of getting married, having kids, and that being that. It's too controlled...

...and there is so much beauty the world has to offer when you let go of that control!
